School Each grade level will have a different color shirt.
Colors: Only Solid Red, White, & Royal Blue for tops and under shirts.

6th grade students will wear - Blue T-shirts/Polo tops
7th grade students will wear - Red T-shirts/Polo tops
8th grade students will wear - White T-shirts/Polo tops




Tops:
• Polo shirt (collar, 2 or 3-button front only, short straight sleeves or long sleeves)
in school colors, with or without school logo. No polo shirts with 5 or 6 buttons.
• T-shirt in school colors with the school logo required.
• Only solid red, white, or blue undershirts, under armor or any thin long sleeve shirt are allowed under the school shirts. No sweatshirts are allowed under the school shirt.
• No slogans, motifs, or other logos besides the school logo may be
worn on T-shirt and polo shirt. No oversized, very tight, or short shirts that cannot be tucked in are allowed.
* No PE gray shirts are to be worn in the classroom or under uniform.
• Shirts must be tucked in for all students, so that pant loops are visible.

6th grade students will wear - Blue T-shirts/Polo tops
7th grade students will wear - Red T-shirts/Polo tops
8th grade students will wear - White T-shirts/Polo tops


Undershirts: All undershirts must be red, white or blue only! No sweat shirts allowed under the school shirt.
Slacks:
• Only khaki/navy slacks will be allowed. No jean style pant in Kahaki or navy allowed, if they have outer pockets or studs they are considered jeans. No cargo or carpenter pants with pockets on each side of the legs or with loops outside, pants must fit to size of the student (no larger than 1 inch).
• Belts are optional. Pants must fit to size so they do not fall without a belt (no larger than 1 inch). Pants should also not fit too tight and students should not gather the bottom of leg pants with rubber bands, or sew pant legs to have skinny tight pant legs. Pants should fit to size.
• Absolutely NO baggy pants riding low, pants should fit to size! No droopy draws.
• Slacks shall be appropriately sized and worn no lower than 1 inch below the waistline.
• No military belts or belts with gang or metal lettering. Please buy plain belts in brown or black.

Winter: Solid Red, White, or Royal blue sweatshirts, sweaters, turtlenecks, and long sleeve shirts may be added as the weather turns colder. We do not recommend hooded sweatshirts or hooded sweat jackets due to students are not allowed to wear hoods on campus. Heavy coats should be left in the lockers. Students should not wear oversized jackets, jackets with religious pictures, and plaided black and white jackets because of gang related associations. Students not wearing a solid Red, White, or Blue sweatshirt will be asked to remove them in the classroom. No shooter jackets are allowed.


Shoes: Tennis shoes must be worn at all times due to the number of
stairs on our campus and students having to move quickly from class to class. All
shoes worn must have a back to the shoe. Slipper type shoes, boots, ballerina slippers, heals and flip flops are not appropriate for safety reasons and are not allowed..

Other: Club/organization shirts may be worn on Fridays only with administrative approval. Team uniform tops may be worn on Fridays and must be worn with a school shirt underneath. Sweatpants are allowed only in P.E. class during cold days.


In addition to the Uniform Policy, the following are NOT allowed:

• No Caps, hats, bandanas, stocking caps, jacket hoods or head bands of any kind.
• No Accessories, to include oversized earring hoops no larger than a quarter, long earrings of any type longer that a quarter, no earrings with spikes, and/or hair-picks, no face piercing on any part of the face. Small earrings the size of a quarter are allowed.
• No excessive Make-up (example glitter on eyes, extended eye liner, eye shadow), no stickers on face and/or accessories that are distracting or interfere with the Instructional program (example large chains and pendants), and wallet chains.
• No shaved eye brows, half shaved eye brows, shaved lines on eye brows, no unnatural dye or hair color including orange, pink, blue, purple, green, gold and/or red. Students should not color their hair due to it being a chemical and it is bad for students health.
• No Mohawk hair, or shaved on one side, or shaved numbers or designs on the head, no
spiked or large teased hair.
* No sunglasses
• No Flip-flops, house slippers, ballerina slippers, slipper shoes, open-toe shoes, high heels, clog tennis shoes, and boots. Shoes must have a back to the shoe, use regular tennis shoes!
• No body piercing on any part of the face or tongue or spiked earrings on ears.
• No cargo/carpenter pants with pockets on each side of the leg.
• No Heavy, bulky outer coats/jackets in the classroom especially in black with gang related writing, religious figures, or plaid check jackets of any color are not allowed.
• No jackets with bands, rap figures/logos, pictures of personalities. The plainer the jacket the better!
• Backpacks will NOT be allowed in the cafeteria during lunch.


P.E. Uniform:
Navy blue shorts with grey T-shirt available at El Milagro 8500 Dyer St. ALL students must have a P.E. uniform. Students will lose credit if they do not suit out in the PE uniform.

UNIFORM DISCIPLINE POLICY

• First and second period teachers are to check students for dress code compliance every morning.


• Uniform violations such as wrong shirt, or wrong pants are to be handled by the first and second period teacher who will send the student to the office. Administration will make the final discipline determination. Administration will try to call parents to bring a change of clothes.


• We do not expect problems with the Uniform Dress Code Policy if students follow the Dress Code Policy. All students are expected to comply with the dress code rules at all times! Students that violate the Dress Code Policy will be placed in ISS (IN School Suspension) until a parent is contacted to bring a change of clothes. If a parent cannot bring the change of clothes the student will remain in ISS for the remainder of the day. When we cannot reach student’s parent the student will remain in ISS for the remainder of the day. New students are given two weeks to be in school uniform.
